Victorian Sterling Silver Fede Gimmel Ring (6.5)
A gimmel or gimmal ring (also called fede) is a type of promise ring exchanged by lovers which was popularized in the Victorian Era (1870s-1890s). This piece is considered sentimental jewelry and would have been given as a token of one's affection, “With my hands, I give you my heart to hold”.
Detailed Description:
- Material: sterling silver
- Design: Crafted in fine sterling silver featuring clasped hands that open to reveal a heart. The three bands are held together by a pin at the back of the ring when opened the hands slide apart to reveal a heart.
- Gemstones: None
- Dimensions:
- Weight: 3.75 grams
- Craftsmanship: Antique estate piece, with some slight wear. On the inner (heart) band, there are some engravings that are mostly worn away/indeciperable but we suspect one was a British hallmark, and the initials represented the lovers who the ring once belonged to.
Perfect For:
- Someone who appreciates history and unique pieces of jewelry.
Why You'll Love It:
- This ring is such a great conversation piece, and
